History

DELTA RUBBER cc., formerly trading as "Magnum Engineering", was established in 1965 as an engineering company, manufacturing moulds and jigs for the rubber industry. During the next five years with the acquisition of rubber processing machines, the nature of business was changed to rubber mouldings.

During 1996, the company went through a major expansion program with the acquisition, installation and commissioning of a rubber mixing plant and relevant facilities. At the same time the name was changed to Delta Rubber cc. Further expansions and development within the Company took place in the years to follow to become one of the role players in the rubber industry as it stands today.

Facilities

Delta Rubber is situated in Eastleigh, Edenvale, Gauteng which is housed under approximately 2,300 sq meters which houses all the different processes of rubber moulding. We are an independent company having invested by a rubber mould factory, mixing department, laboratory, separate silicone moulding department and machine shop.

Our product range at this stage consists of 3200 moulded components. At present Delta is one of the few companies in the rubber industry to offer full facilities that range from design through processing to testing with quality procedures in place, all on the same premises. We supply a wide range of products to a wide spectrum of industries throughout South Africa specializing in high specification components.

Capabilities

Delta Rubber can offer products in a wide variety of different polymers from natural to synthetic rubbers including fluorinated elastomers. We offer assistance to customers in designing and development of their own products.

Therefore, a large part of the products are manufactured according to customer designs and specifications. We have our own designed and installed unique dynamic testing machine. Delta Rubber provides over the counter sales offering sales of standard rubber components i.e. sheeting, insertion rubber, grommets, seals, mountings, buffers and bushes.

Workforce

We are manned by a total of 50 personnel which includes management, administration, supervisors, and machine operators all of which are subject to various training and motivation programs on a regular basis.

Achievements

During 2007, Delta Rubber implemented the ISO 9001:2008 with the intention to be reviewed annually, therefore enabling us to be a supplier of quality products, according to a worldwide recognized quality management system.

Delta Rubber is a BBBEE certified company promoting training and development of all staff within the company. A program is in place to improve on an ongoing basis all criteria required to qualify for this certification.

Technology

We have an onsite rubber technologist who offers technical support. We have a substantial array of standard formulations to meet with customer needs in a variety of hardness from 30 shore A up to 90 + shore A. Supplying of rubber compounds to various other rubber companies, where customers rely on Delta Rubber for quality, consistency and service, also forms part of our business.
